Sew-ology Thread
I was recently at Hobby Lobby and saw that Coats and Clarks thread is on clearance and there is a new rack for Sewology Thread. Has anyone used this brand? How would you rate the quality?

Re: Sew-ology Thread
I've never heard of Sewology but my machine hates Coats and Clark Dual Duty.
Rescued is my favorite breed.

Re: Sew-ology Thread
I had never heard of it / seen it in a store before. Does anyone else have experience with this brand?

Re: Sew-ology Thread
Sewology is Hobby Lobby's brand for sewing notions - I've not tried their thread, but I've bought other items under this brand (pins, rivets, ribbon, etc.) all seem to be decent quality.
Let us know if you try the threadComment

Re: Sew-ology Thread
I tried it and my machine loves it! It is made in Europe and the color range is huge!

Sew-ology thread is not suitable for hand quilting, very thick, hard to thread, draggy, twists very badly. I hadn't sewn 10" before I decided it just was not going to work.

Re: Sew-ology Thread
My experience with their hand quilting thread is very bad. I will have to use it only for basting and setting up quilts in the frames. Hand quilting sew-ology thread is very thick, draggy, hard to thread, and twists while stitching. I have been hand quilting for @20 yrs and have never used such a poor thread for hand quilting.

Re: Sew-ology Thread
I have used it twice out of desperation, and both times my machine had a heck of a time with it. Not my first choice, but it got the job done eventually.

Re: Sew-ology Thread
A friend of mine asked me to embroider a monogram on a onesie and brought a spool of the Sewology machine embroidery thread that was in the color she wanted. I was a little worried about using it but it worked just fine and my machine didn't have any hiccups with it. Can't speak about any of the other types of Sewology thread though.
