Former Love Island star Maura Higgins is back on British soil after fleeing to America in the wake of being pictured kissing married McFly singer Danny Jones

Reality TV star Maura Higgins showed off her natural beauty on Monday as she went make-up free. The former Love Island star, 34, recently returned to the U.K as the fallout from her kiss with married singer Danny Jones rumbles on.

Maura, who headed over the America days after being snapped smooching the McFly star at the BRIT Awards, cut a casual but chic figure as she got back to her beauty regime in England.

The 34-year-old, who was dating TOWIE star Pete Wicks before locking lips with Danny, donned sliders, loose black pants, a grey hoodie and a black headband as she paid a visit to a lash specialist before having her nails done.

While Maura looked carefree and stunning as she ran errands, the Irish beauty is reportedly feeling the heat and allegedly believes she "can never speak to Danny Jones again" after their Brits afterparty kiss. It's claimed Maura is absolutely "mortified" about the whole snog saga, which has spurred a rocky period for Danny's wedded bliss.

Danny issued a grovelling statement and publicly apologised to his wife, former Miss England Georgia Horsley, but Maura has been keeping mum on the ordeal publicly and trying to move on. However, sources close to the star have revealed just how red-faced she truly is.

"It's been a tough few weeks for Maura. She's mortified and would do anything to erase what happened," the insider told Closer magazine earlier this week. "She was at complete rock bottom when it all came out. At the same time, she feels like some of the backlash that's come her way is unjustified.

"She's saying that she refuses to be labelled as the villain or the sole reason that Danny's marriage is in bits, it just isn't fair for all the blame to be on her."

That insider also went on to say: "Maura insists that she can't even remember the kiss. It wasn't and won't ever be a 'thing' between them, and she said she won't speak to him again."

Maura and Danny met and formed a close bond on the 2024 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Fast forward to March 1, the former campmates sent shockwaves through the showbiz world as they were pictured in a boozy embrace at the BRIT Awards. In the wake of the scandal, Maura zipped off to LA, diving straight into work with a modelling gig.

Danny issued an apology for his actions in a heartfelt statement on Instagram last week, saying: "Sorry it's taken me a while to post this, but I've taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we'll continue to deal with this privately."

The Obviously hitmaker tied the know with wife Georgia in 2014 and they share a son, Cooper together. In December, he was crowned king of the jungle on I'm A Celebrity - triumphing over TV personality Coleen Rooney.

During his stint on the show, Danny opened up about personal issues, including his strained relationship with his father, and frequently spoke about his family. Meanwhile, Maura, known from ITV2's dating series Love Island, joined the show late alongside broadcaster Reverend Richard Coles, but was eliminated before the final.

It's been reported that Georgia has now decided to return to the family nest and is willing to give Danny another chance after briefly leaving the home she shares with the singer. The Daily Mail claims that a "furious" Georgia had temporarily vacated the London property she recently bought with Danny, but now she's back, as Danny works to steer their marriage "back on track".

"The break has done Georgia a world of being out and about with her mate Rose Mahon was just the tonic she needed to clear her head," a source close to Georgia told The Sun. "Her relationship with Danny has been stretched to its limits, and they're still figuring out what they want. Danny has made it clear he will do anything to make it work."

Following Danny's infamous smooch with Maura, it emerged that Georgia decided to bunker down at a friend's place for some headspace amid the drama. Despite his apologies, it was suggested that Georgia opted for a little time away from her man, shacking up with their mutual bestie for some breather space.
